Powerhouse PR firm owner Jonell Whitt attempted double up as a chronological tour guide for us grown folks a few steps behind on what’s hip and hot with the teen set during the Cymia “Cash Money Princesss” Alleria’s first Hallo-Tween party in Atlanta.
Whitt, the founder and president of Jonell PR, rolled up on the set as Cymia got things cranking with a dance contest to the tune of Cali Swagg District “Teach Me how to Dougie” blowing through the speakers, courtesy of DJ Cooley. Here’s Whitt’s inventory of what went down in the packed house:
As I went around the room talking to each of the kids I learned that “Kids Do say the darndest things”. I approached them asking general questions like “are you having a good time? Do you like all the candy? and then I began to inquire of different ones what type of projects did they have going on? Talk about “get with the program”.. I felt so behind on everything. First I approached 12 year old Rap Artist Key Swag3000 signed by #DoWork Enterprises label owned by Memphitz (newlywed to Toya Carter) and Key Swag informed me he has a new single on itunes titled “Don’t Steal My Swag”, he just wrapped a campaign where he collected 250 jackets for the homeless and he is just starting a food drive collecting canned goods for the homeless. He proceeded to give me his facebook, twitter, and myspace information. His email lilkeyswagg@yahoo and his website in case I got some inquiries of where to drop off the can goods. This young entreprenuer or should I say a young 50cent in the making is a true businessman.
Her objective for stopping by the party was to support her castmate Cymia Telleria and to have a great time. Special invited Guest “Zoe Hendrix” from BET’s Reed Between the Lines who plays the daughter of Malcolm Jamal Warner & Traci Ellis Ross was sure to remind me to check her out on Tuesday nights at 10pm on BET and she actually designed the back of her costume which appeared to be a bridal gown? Or maybe a fairy princess outfit.
I had to snag a picture of her and KeySwagg3000 as they looked like they were ready for a Jr Prom nite or to be placed on top of a jumbo wedding cake. Too adorable were my only words that came to mind. Oh and I can’t forget the honorable 12 yr old DJ Priest who just stopped to pay respect to Cymia as he was headed to a DJ gig he had already lined up before he got the invite. This was definitely not a class of deadbeat tweens. This group gave me really great hope in realizing that children of today are defintely our future of tomorrow.
The top Costume winners were Mr Brown from “Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns”, worn by Devante Black. Kelly Hooper as Kim Possible, Cymia Telleria as Tomb Raider and Kody who was dressed as Foxy Cleopatra. She informed me that she is a Professional Comedian (Kid Comic) and to follow her on twitter @atyykodiee if I am interested in booking her in the future.
Other celebs that passed through were SoSoDef Artist “Dondria”, Nashawn Kearse ‘Desperate Housewives, Entourage” actor, the cast of “Dear Diary” and the “Priceless Teens” who served as the events Hosts for the evening.
