Disinterested Fans
Fan attendance in the NBA is dwindling. According to recent reports, Major League Soccer usurped the NBA as the third most popular sport in the U.S. A yearlong strike will cause many NBA fans to become disinterested in the future. Sports fans can recall how Major League Baseball suffered after its year-long strike in 1994. Once the most popular sport in America during the ’80s, MLB lost a lot of its fan base as the NFL eventually became the top sport. The NBA could experience a similar fate.
