Hip-hop has seen a number of untimely deaths throughout the years, but it never gets easy seeing newcomers or legends in the game pass away. Such was the case when iconic emcee Heavy D passed away last week. The beloved emcee’s death sent shockwaves throughout the industry and gave rise to the notion that, like other genres before it, hip-hop is now watching its founders fade into the night.
