Red Café of Bad Boy/Interscope Hosts Ciroc Listening Lounge

Red Café traveled from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Dallas for an exclusive listening party to promote his single, “Fly Together” which features Ryan Leslie and Rick Ross. The lead single from his upcoming debut album, ShakeDown, is the artist’s highest charting song to date. The listening party was host to various different hip hop media tastemakers and also received a visit from Pilar Sanders and her entourage. Red, as he is affectionately called, is no stranger around the globe. He has been doing tours in Japan, Europe, Italy and the Bahamas on his own and has never had to open for any other artist. That drive and determination for greatness is what caught the attention of Jimmy Iovine and Diddy. –antravian d. carter

How did you get signed with Bad Boy/Interscope

I was out grinding, trying to make it happen for myself. I was touring, making music, and putting out quality material. They recognized the work I was putting out and my hustle and they came and found me.

What inspired the title ShakeDown and the content behind this upcoming album

Well, I was away for a while and about every three weeks we would have a SHAKEDOWN and everything you owned would be searched for illegal items. So, that term for me was something that was very personal and I wanted it to take on that same meaning just in a different way musically. Just me striped down of everything and show all I have in this album.

What are your plans after your album is released

I want to venture into other things like film and bringing in new talent. I also want to do some more collaboration projects.

What would you like to share with new talent that could help with their journey to the industry

Remain honest and make sure you don’t compromise yourself in anything you do.

How can we keep track of your rise to fame
