Common, Lupe Fiasco, Grand Master Flash, Melly Mel and LL Cool J collaborated to perform the 1982 classic hip-hop song “The Message.” It introduced a new audience to the foundation of hip-hop and the performance could be viewed as one of the greatest hip-hop tributes in television history.
