- Indie Movie Theater: If you’re like me, your schedule doesn’t always allot time to peep out blockbuster films during opening weekend, if at all. What better excuse to check out a good film, after its mainstream run has elapsed, on the low-low with your date? Many cities, large and small, have independently owned or discount movie theaters. Tickets will cost less (often only two or three dollars), as will concessions. In addition, these theaters will be less crowded, so you’re less likely to get stuck behind someone tall or in front of a uncouth person who talks on the cell or holds irritating conversations with the screen.
