Another Disappointing Amy Winehouse Tribute

After a rather lackluster tribute to late singer Amy Winehouse at the 2011 MTV VMAs, many assumed that Winehouse would be properly honored at last night’s show. Unfortunately, that was far from the case as the divas gave an even worse tribute than MTV. Sharon Jones  and Wanda Jones took the stage first to perform “You Know I’m No Good” and Wanda embarrassingly missed her cue, forcing Sharon and the band to graciously start the verse over for her. Things continued to nosedive for the tribute as Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine gave a weak performance of “Back to Black,” which was sad considering how well she recently performed Drake’s “Take Care” (YouTube it. It’s worth it). Overall, it was just an underwhelming tribute that left us wondering why Adele still hasn’t been asked to honor Winehouse.
