7. Precious
In 2009, Perry teamed with Oprah Winfrey to present Precious, a film based on the novel Push by Sapphire. Starring such ladies as Mo’Nique, Gabourey Sibide, Paula Patton, and Mariah Carey, the movie made monumental strides for not only black films, but also black actors. Precious won 80 awards out of the 137 nominations from various film associations and awards programs.
