Ludacris Launching Chicken Restaurant: 6 Other Stars in the Restaurant Business

We knew Ludacris loved chicken and beer when he named his multiplatinum 2003 album after the famous food and drink duo. And now the rapper plans to turn the famous title into a famous restaurant, announcing plans to set up an eatery called Chicken & Beer in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

Ludacris made the announcement via his Twitter page on Jan. 3, saying that the restaurant, will open sometime this year.

“Im taking my restaurateur footprint into the busiest airport in the WORLD! Hartsfield-Jackson ATL International! Chicken & Beer coming soon!” announced Luda. “WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THE BUSIEST AIRPORT ON THE PLANET!! THIS IS HISTORY!! #chickenandbeer.”

Luda continued, “I’m just doin my part 2 keep ATL Ga 1 of the most welcoming cities to visit in the WORLD #chickenandbeer opening in Hartsfield airport 2012!”

Luda later explained in a statement that he’s closing his original restaurant, Straits, which he’s operated in Midtown Atlanta for four years with partner, Chris Yeo.

“As I continue to learn and evolve as a businessman, I am extremely excited to put my restaurateur footprint into a new venture inside the busiest international airport in the United States, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” said Luda. “Straits was a great segue into the industry and with Chicken & Beer I can create my own concept. I look forward to expanding my creativity and driving to a much higher plane.”

Hopefully, Luda’s restaurant won’t go under like Flavor Flav’s ill-fated fried chicken restaurant. But considering Luda’s track record, we doubt that will happen. Check out five other celebs who own restaurants below. –nicholas robinson
