It’s been 14 years since R&B veterans Brandy and Monica joined forces to release their chart-topping mammoth single, “The Boy Is Mine.” But now the two are ready to recapture that magic once again. Brandy and Monica have recently revealed that they’ve reunited in the studio to record new music.
The two songbirds announced the news on Jan. 6, when Monica tweeted a photo of herself, Brandy and producer-songwriter Rico Love in the studio.
“We have Both Been Blessed Beyond Measure..14years later.. #TURNTHELIGHTSON,” tweeted Monica.
Brandy then followed up, saying the collaboration “turned out great.”
“Wonderful night in the studio! I wasn’t 100%, but I gave it my all and it turned out great! Just a little more raspy than normal:),” Brandy tweeted.
It’s unclear which artist will receive the song, but it’s not unlikely that the pair will share the song on both of their upcoming albums, like they did with “The Boy Is Mine.” Either way, we’re excited to see the two back together again and we’ll be waiting to hear what their new collaboration sounds like.
