Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels of Run-D.M.C. learned that he was adopted while writing his biography, when his mother, Bannah, revealed that he was adopted when he was 3 months old. DMC then chronicled his search for his biological parents through the 2006 documentary “DMC: My Adoption Journey,” through which DMC was reunited with his birth mother, Berncenia.
