Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, center, kind of set himself up for the legal okie -doke with his menacing presence, volatile temper and penchant for petty crimes despite a boxing career. But then he was convicted of a triple homicide that was eventually overturned. And with that, Carter overturned the cancerous emotions of resentment and hate for his Jim Crow-era upbringing.
