Movie Review: 'Contraband'

Director: Baltasar Kormákur

Stars: Mark Walhberg, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Beckinsale

Studio: Universal Pictures

Contraband stars the very talented Mark Wahlberg who is trying his best to stay out of trouble and leave his criminal ways behind him. Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) has abandoned his life of crime but when his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) botches a drug deal for his unforgiving boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced to re-enter the cutthroat world of international smuggling to protect his family and settle Andy’s debt. In the world of criminals, corrupt officials and big payoffs Chris has no choice but to assemble a crew to pull off one more deal for the sake of his family.
Contraband is an action-packed thriller and just what the doctor ordered for starting off the movie season for 2012.
