Movie Review: ‘Laugh at My Pain’

Movie Review: 'Laugh at My Pain'

Director: Leslie Small

Stars: Kevin Hart

Studio: Codeblack Entertainment

Kevin Hart invites you to laugh at his pain, but you may find yourself wincing between the guffaws. Hart, arguably one of the most talented comedians of this generation, holds nothing back in Laugh at My Pain, a witty tour de force that explores his humble beginnings in Philadelphia, his chaotic family life, thanks in large part to his cocaine-addicted father, and the loss of his beloved mother to cancer. Granted, those are not topics that would typically cause one to giggle, but Hart’s comedic timing and droll delivery will tease those belly laughs right out of your sternum. Yes, surprisingly, you will laugh at his pain, but you will also develop a new appreciation for the comedic genius of Kevin Hart.
