Mike Epps is preparing to hit the road for the “Mike Epps: Still Standing” comedy tour. Epps recently sat down with rolling out magazine for an interview and photo shoot.

On how he prepares for a stand-up comedy tour:
“I’m always working throughout the year. It takes a year for me to go to comedy shows and improvs to work on my act and work on my timing.”
On why this will be his best tour:
“This stand up is ‘Mike Epps: Still Standing’. It’s my third stand up comedy special. i’m more seasoned than ever. I got everything laid out. I’ve been working on jokes for years. My subject matter is better. My story is great. My punchline and delivery. It’s time to show everyone what I’ve been working on for many years.”
Thoughts on stand-up comedy vs. film:
“I think stand-up is my first love. It’s the first art form that I fell in love with. That’s the thing that I will never leave. I can depend on it when all else fails. I get instant gratification from my fans. It keeps me grounded.”
