According to RadarOnline, Houston is in dire financial straits after blowing away her entire fortune. Sources are now claiming that Houston is now financially dependent on her record label, Arista, and is in threat of losing her home.
“Whitney’s fortune is gone. Music industry heavy hitters are supporting her and her label is fronting her cash against her next album, but no one knows when that will be released,” a source claimed. “She might be homeless if not for people saving her. She is broke as a joke.”
The source added, “She called someone to ask for $100. It is so sad. She should have Mariah Carey money, and she’s flat broke.”
However, according to RumorFix, a source close to Houston is saying the rumor is false, claiming that there’s no way Houston could have already spent all the money from her record-breaking $100 million deal with Arista.
A rep for Houston has also spoken out against the rumors, citing Houston’s new film, Sparkle, as proof that she still has money.
“This is a ridiculous story and not true. She just completed a movie, Sparkle, which comes out in August which she also executive produced,” said the rep.
