Aretha Franklin celebrated 70 years of life this weekend with family, friends and a longtime friend.
The Queen of Soul was spotted at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel in New York where she confirmed that she’s reunited with Clive Davis, whom she first worked with in the ’80s.
“I have re-signed with Clive Davis, so I’m recording with Clive again,” she told The Associated Press while chatting with guests including The Rev. Al Sharpton and Diane Sawyer.
She later added, “We’re going to sit together and decide what it is we’re going to record.”
Also in attendance was her longtime partner, Willie Wilkerson. Franklin was scheduled to marry Wilkerson before suddenly calling off their engagement.
