Police are clearing up reports that evidence was removed from Whitney Houston’s hotel room and confirming that cocaine was indeed found.
As previously reported, Houston’s death on Feb. 11 was caused by accidental drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use were ruled contributing factors. A coroner also confirmed that the singer also had marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril, Benadryl and cocaine in her system.
Since then there have been rumors that cocaine was removed from the scene by Raffles Van Excel, a so-called “entertainment consultant” who alluded to it himself.
Now according to TMZ, authorities told them that cocaine was found in her Beverly Hilton hotel room despite conflicting reports.
Official documents show that one of the items police recovered was “white, powdery remnants” that were later confirmed to be cocaine.
Beverly Hills detectives are reportedly not investigating rumors that someone removed drugs from the scene room because they believed they recovered it themselves.
