A Chicago charter school has announced that every one of its graduates will attend college for a third year in a row.
According to the Chicago Tribune, every senior at the only all-black, all-male charter high school in the state, Urban Prep Academy, has been accepted to college.
“We devote time and energy to those students so that they understand they can do well and they can have success if they modify their behavior,” said Tim King, Urban Prep’s CEO, in explaining the school’s high graduate rate.
Urban Prep spends an average of $12,000 annually per pupil.
