While promoting her new film Battleship, Rihanna spoke out on an unconfirmed role in Whitney Houston’s biopic.
The singer spoke with The Press Association U.K. and said she would love to portray the late singer in a movie about her life.
“That would be something, that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off. That’s a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job.”
The singer later added:
“My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song — ‘I Will Always Love You.” It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really she’s partly responsible for me being here in this industry.”
Rihanna, 24, is said to be one of several people up for the role, along with Jordin Sparks, Meagan Good, Vivica Fox and Brandy.
Music producer and Houston’s longtime friend, Clive Davis has denied reports that a biopic was in the works.
