Famed TV producer and “New Year’s Rockin Eve” host Dick Clark died this morning at age 82. The television icon, who suffered a massive stroke in 2004, passed away from a heart attack, a rep confirmed to TMZ.
Clark was said to be at St. John’s hospital in L.A. for an outpatient procedure. The procedure triggered a heart attack and attempts to resuscitate him were successful.
Clark created his ‘New Year’s Rockin Eve’ special in 1972. He handed over hosting duties to Ryan Seacrest in 2006. He also famously hosted the groundbreaking “American Bandstand” televison series.
He is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton.
