Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have become the media’s new darlings after Kim was spotted with West two weekends ago, spawning a flurry of reports that the two are now a couple. Though West has remained silent on the matter, he’s now opened up just a bit to set the record straight on the rumors.
A source previously told Us magazine that West thinks “Kim is his Beyoncé,” leading to a recent “Saturday Night Live” skit that included West’s alleged remark.
But in a recent interview with Us, West denied ever referring to Kardashian as his Beyoncé.
“… Of course there are a lot of media inaccuracies surrounding this past couple of weeks, especially the ‘She’s my Beyoncé’ quote. I would never compare anyone to my friend’s wife,” claimed West, who is a longtime friend of superstar couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
“Come on now, that doesn’t even sound like me,” said West. “If I don’t say something in a rap or on Twitter, it’s not true.”
If that is indeed the case, then what’s true is that West was (and may still be) in love with Kardashian. In his latest song, “Way Too Cold,” previously titled “Theraflu,” West raps “I fell in love with Kim around the same time she fell in love with him,” referring to her failed marriage to Kris Humphries.
Well, guess we’ll have to wait for a song or tweet from West to confirm the relationship. But if they are together, Jay and Bey aren’t the only hip-hop couple ‘Ye has to look up to. Check out some other hip-hop powerhouse couples below. –nicholas robinson
