Jamie Foxx’s transformation into Ray Charles was uncanny, brilliant and almost eerie. Halfway through the film, many theatergoers and film critics forgot that they were looking at a man who made his name being a goofy bumbling comic, an extraordinary almost spiritual journey down the path of a musical genius. Foxx won an Academy Award in perhaps the best biopic ever, and no one else in the Best Actor category should have bothered even showing up on Oscar night.
