Beyoncé has long ignored rumors that she faked her pregnancy, but in her interview with People Magazine for their ‘most beautiful’ issue, she’s finally speaking out.
As previously reported, the 30-year-old wife and mother to baby Blue Ivy was dubbed the ‘the world’s most beautiful woman’ by the publication and happily spoke about her bundle of joy. “She’s just the cutest thing,” gushed Bey who also added that she “loves” changing her diapers.
In addition to doting on her daughter, the singer addressed rumors that she was faking her pregnancy and actually had the baby via a surrogate. In the months leading up to her daughter’s birth, the public went from feelings of joy for the mom-to-be whose pregnancy announcement at the Video Music Awards nearly crashed the internet, to serious doubt.
In late 2011 the singer was interviewed by an Australian news program while wearing a tight fitting pink dress that seemed to collapse in the stomach area when the singer sat down. According to Bey however, reports of her sporting a prosthetic bump are utterly ridiculous. “It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid,” she told People. Instead of being aggravated by all the outrageous reports however, Bey said that she was simply taken aback by how ludicrous they were. “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” she said. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?”
Although Mrs. Shawn Carter says she wasn’t offended by surrogacy rumors, the same can’t be said for the grandmother to the budding baby girl, mother Tina Knowles. “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” Tina told People “As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous,” she added.
Despite the controversy that surrounded Blue Ivy Carter’s Jan. 7 birth, the first daughter of hip-hop’s most prominent power couple is said to be living in the lap of luxury. Before her birth, baby Blue was treated to a $5,200 Swavoroski crystal baby bath tub from her “aunt” Kelly Rowland. Most recently the baby was seen donning Marc Jacobs baby shoes that matched her mother’s much larger, much more expensive pair. -danielle canada
