Myron Rolle:
This All-American defensive back from Florida State University actually received beef and drama for accepting the opportunity to become a Rhodes Scholar, arguably the world’s most prestigious educational accomplishment, and attend Oxford University in England. He now plays in the NFL where some questioned his commitment to the sport after he delayed his entry into the NFL. In a nation that almost gleefully feasts on the fact that so many black men do not finish their college degrees while playing sports for their respective teams — and do not even finish high school — the flack Rolle got for pursuing this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity was extremely curious and hypocritical.
