Threading is a hair removal technique that involves taking cotton thread and swiping it against your eyebrow’s natural growth pattern in order to quickly remove unwanted hair from its root.
The technique is widely believed to have originated in South Asia and the Middle East, but there’s a traveling black stylist, James Wealthy, who has perfected the technique as well.
As with any service, the benefits of threading rely heavily on the eyebrow stylist’s mastery of the technique, and the cleanliness of the environment. Sterilized thread and eyebrow clean-up tools, (i.e., scissors or brushes), is a must. Using unclean thread or clean-up tools could lead to a skin infection.
For the most part, threading is a popular option for ladies with bushy brows because it does not burn the skin like some waxing techniques and is not as painful as plucking. Some discomfort or redness may be experienced afterwards.
The service costs approximately $15.
