Chuck Brown regarded as the “Godfather of Go-Go” has passed away, according to official reports from his family members. Brown’s daughter confirmed Wednesday to ABC 7 that Brown, 75, died after being hospitalized with pneumonia. Brown was scheduled to perform in his home of Washington, D.C., in late April but canceled citing joint pain and inflammation. He later canceled a scheduled performance on May 10.


Chuck Brown is best known for his hit “Bustin Loose” that was later sampled by rapper Nelly for his track “Hot in Herrre.” “Bustin Loose” has since been adopted as the home run anthem for the Washington Nationals baseball team.
