Marriage Trend: Why the CEO Marries the Secretary

Women with powerful positions are more likely to stray. Dr. Stephanie Brown, the lead author of a University of Michigan study found: “Powerful women are at a disadvantage in the marriage market because men may prefer to marry less-accomplished women,” Brown said.  Although, men think that women with important jobs are more likely to cheat, they had no problem having a one-night stand with a powerful woman.

A powerful man typically spends long hours at work, and his female assistant is usually there with him.

Henry Hold and Company, authors of Why We Love, the Nature and Chemistry of Love, explain: “One of the greatest predictors of love is proximity. Physical closeness leads to increased emotion, and it is not unusual to hear stories of bosses falling in love with their secretaries.”

Women who are in subordinate positions are always there to tend to the man’s needs, and it’s a turn-on.

“A boss is in a position of authority over a secretary,” notes popular male blogger The Indexer. “He is telling her what to do all day, and she will follow his instructions. That is quite a turn-on for some men, who might well fantasize about taking that relationship out of the office and into the bedroom. Wives, in the main, don’t like being told what to do but secretaries are used to it. Men are stupid like that!”
