Cyrus Engaged 

Miley Cyrus is confirming reports that she’s set to marry her 22-year-old actor boyfriend. Cyrus, 19, quickly became a trending topic and top Google search on June 5 after news of her engagement to Australian Liam Hemsworth hit the Internet. Hemsworth, who starred in The Hunger Games, has been dating Cyrus for three years.

“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Cyrus told People magazine about her forthcoming nuptials. The bride-to-be later tweeted to her fans, “Thank you for all the love today :). I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true. have a great day.”

Hemsworth, the younger brother of Thor actor Chris Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus with a 3.5 carat diamond dating back to the 19th century. Designed by famed jeweler Neil Lane, the ring features handcrafted diamond floral motifs in an 18-karat gold art nouveau pattern.

Since news broke of the young couple’s forthcoming nuptials, they’ve received a wave of support from their fellow Hollywood celebs. On June 6 “The Talk” co-host Sharon Osbourne defended the singer amid comments that she’s too young to be wed. “I think that she is 19, but in her head she is an old soul,” said Osbourne. “She has lived 19 lives in 19 years. … She is an accomplished young woman, who knows what she wants at this time in her life.”

The couple has not announced a wedding date. –danielle canada
