Versace Mansion on the Market
If you’re looking to live lavishly on Miami’s South Beach in the former home of famed fashion designer Versace, then consider yourself in luck. The so-called Casa Casa Casuarina or Versace mansion has been placed on the market for $125 million, according to CNN.
The 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate of the late Gianni Versace has become a landmark on Miami’s waterfront. The house includes opulent features like a 54-foot-long pool lined in 24-karat gold.
“This is not only the most well-known property on South Beach, it’s also known worldwide for its attention to detail throughout every room, its elegance and its style,” said listing agent Jill Eber.
“Right now with the attention and action the high-end luxury real estate market in the Miami area is receiving, it’s the perfect time to find the right buyer for this magnificent home,” added fellow listing agent Jill Hertzberg. “Whoever buys it will have instant celebrity.”
In 1997, Versace was killed at the gates of the iconic estate. He purchased the home in 1992 and spent about $33 million expanding it with a 6,100 square-foot south wing, mosaic courtyard and frescoes on the home’s walls and ceilings.
The Versace mansion is currently owned by telecom entrepreneur Peter Loftin, who purchased the property for $20 million.
