Cheater Husbands and the STDs They Bring Home

Cheaters: Most Common STDs Husbands Bring Home

Chlamydia

If the cheating spouse has a younger mistress, Chlamydia may be an issue.

States the CDC: “Chlamydia remains the most commonly reported infectious disease in the United States. There were more than 1.2 million cases of chlamydia (1,244,180) reported to CDC in 2009, the largest number of cases ever reported to CDC for any condition. Women, especially young and minority women are hardest hit by chlamydia. CDC recommends annual chlamydia screening for young women under the age of 26.”

Syphilis

If the cheating spouse has sex with men, Syphilis may be an issue.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, “the majority of reported syphilis cases in the U.S. continue to be among Men Who Have Sex with Men. CDC recommends that sexually active MSM be tested at least yearly for syphilis.”

Also, the overall syphilis rate decreased for the first time in a decade, and is down 1.6 percent since 2009. However, the rate among young black men has increased dramatically over the past five years (134 percent).

Herpes

If the spouse is over 50, and is popping sex pills to combat erectile dysfunction, there is a 50 percent chance that you may be infected. According to the CDC, “men over 50 — regardless of marital status — are six times less likely to use a condom than men in their 20s, partly because, by that age, they (and their partner) are less worried about pregnancy.”

Super Gonorrhea

This antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea is a bacterial infection that can cause inflammation, infertility, pregnancy complications and, in extreme cases, lead to maternal death. If you are pregnant and infected, your child has 50 percent chance of developing an eye infection that can result in blindness.

HIV

People with gonorrhea, chlamydia, or syphilis are at increased risk for HIV.
