Black TV and Movie Fathers We Love

Black TV and Movie Fathers We Love

Eddie Murphy:

Sure, he spoke to animals in both Dr. Dolittle movies, but he was also portrayed a successful physician who was married and had beautiful children. That just doesn’t happen very often at all. He also played a father figure opposite Regina King in Daddy Day Care. His daddy in both Nutty Professor/Klumps movies didn’t elicit much “pride,” but all five films surpassed $100 million at the box office. Murphy has a lot more pull and power in Hollywood than people realize to get these kinds of films green lit.
