As his Miami Heat teammates are celebrating their victory, Dwyane Wade, no doubt, is also focused on his upcoming court date.
On June 26, Wade must face-off with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn, once again over their sons.
According to Wade’s attorneys, his sons, ages 10 and 5, were supposed to be picked up from Siohvaughn’s home last Saturday afternoon. Wade’s sister was to pick the children up so that they could fly to Miami to be with their father for Father’s Day. When Wade’s sister arrived, Siohvaughn refused to open the door, or let the boys come outside.
Allegedly, Siohvaughn barricaded herself in the home for several hours. Police were called, and she refused to respond to the knock on the door. Later, when Siohvaughn emerged from the home, she was arrested for failure to comply with a court order, according to Cook County Sheriff’s spokesman Frank Bilecki. She was charged with two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation interference and one count of resisting arrest, according to a statement released by the department.
The Wade boys missed their commercial flight, and a private jet was commissioned so that they could see their father.
An emergency motion was filed in court to strip Siohvaughn of visitation rights. In the filing, Wade wrote: “My children have been subjected to a great deal of ‘drama/trauma’ as a result of (their mother’s) conduct throughout this case.”
Dwyane and Siohvaughn divorced in 2010. In 2011, a judge award Wade sole primary custody of their two sons and Siohvaughn was given visitation rights.
Dwyane Wade is dating actress Gabrielle Union.
