It’s been nearly a decade since Destiny’s Child disbanded, and with each “child” carving out her own space in life and in music, it seemed like their days as pop’s biggest girl group were through; the destiny had been fulfilled. But according to Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, destiny may just have another journey in store for DC.
In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Knowles discussed the future of his Music World Entertainment and revealed that two new Destiny’s Child albums are in the works.
“We still have our joint venture with Sony and in November we’re putting out two Destiny’s Child catalog records with new material. So we’re going to start doing strategic things like that,” Knowles confessed. “It’s all released material with some previously unreleased material.”
Though Destiny’s Child may not be entering the studio just yet, they may be reuniting on the stage in the coming years.
“Not on the first release. It takes a year of planning to do these tours, but first it starts with the artist wanting to do it. And I think the ladies are still working happily in their solo careers. And I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible. The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they’re going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny’s Child hits. We would have to throw away some number ones from off the set list [laughs].”
Well, we’re sure fans will definitely show support if Destiny’s Child does decide to return. And like them, below are five other artists who staged a major comeback. –nicholas robinson
