A suburban Los Angeles pastor has been arrested and charged with nine felony counts of committing lewd sexual acts on a minor, the media reports.
Gordon Solomon, 50, pastor of the Christ’s Community Church in Inglewood, Calif., allegedly met the 14-year-old girl two years ago at his church, and quickly began communicating with her and establishing a bond between the two, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, KTLA 5 TV is reporting.
Sheriff’s investigators state that Solomon “developed an affinity for the girl,” which included exchanging emails and texts of a “sexual nature” and meeting at various private locations for relations.
The illicit relationship continued until the girl’s mother discovered a text message from Solomon, saw the nature of the texts and immediately notified law enforcement. The name of the female victim is, of course, being withheld because she is underage.
Gordon is being held in jail in lieu of $3-million bail.
Worse, the television station is reporting, authorities believe that there may be other victims who have yet to come forward. They are asking anyone with additional information about this or other victims to contact the LA County Sheriff Department.
