Diana Ross Signs Off on New Custody Agreement for Michael Jackson's Kids

After weeks of strife amongst the Jackson family, it looks like peace may now be found in the family thanks to friend Diana Ross. Ross recently signed off on a new custody agreement that will allow Michael Jackson’s children, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, to have two guardians; their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, and their cousin, TJ Jackson.

The news comes just days after Katherine and TJ announced plans to petition to become co-guardians of Michael’s kids. And according to RadarOnline, Ross, who would assume custody of the kids if anything happened to Katherine, was more than willing to help the two gain co-guardianship.

“Diana has no qualms whatsoever about the new custody agreement, she only wants what is best for the children. Diana knows that the children are old enough to decide who they want to live with and she defers to what they want. While Diana hasn’t been a big part of their lives because she lives on the East Coast, she is very fond of them,” said the source.

Just last week, Katherine was stripped of her sole guardianship of her grandchildren by Judge Mitchell Beckloff after she mysteriously traveled to Arizona and was unable to be reached for a week. Temporary guardianship was then awarded to TJ.

Beckloff claimed that his decision wasn’t based on any wrongdoing on Katherine’s part, but because she had been prevented from fulfilling her guardianship duties by an “intentional act from third parties.”

Those third parties include Janet Jackson, Jermaine Jackson and Randy Jackson, who have been at the center of a family battle over Michael’s will, which they claim is fake. As it stands, the will left everything to Michael’s kids under the care of Katherine.

The paperwork for the new guardianship is expected to be submitted this week and a judge will have to sign off on the proposed agreement.

Hopefully, this will bring the Jackson family one step closer to regaining peace, once again. Check out some other famous custody cases below. – nicholas robinson
