A 42-to-1 odds faced James “Buster” Douglas in his heavyweight title fight against Mike Tyson in 1990. Tyson had been the heavyweight champion of the world for more than two years, and appeared utterly unstoppable. The Douglas fight was supposed to be a tune-up, merely warming “Iron Mike” up for an eventual showdown with Evander Holyfield. But Douglas shocked America when he pummeled Tyson into the canvas and became heavyweight champ. Unfortunately, while Tyson was punch drunk, Douglas was drunk off his victory and his reign over the boxing lasting only one fight.
