Beyoncé Releases World Humanitarian Day Video
Even with millions to her name, a famed family by her side and countless fans worldwide, Beyoncé is still doing her part to give back. The singer, 30, recently released a video promoting World Humanitarian Day, the global campaign encouraging people to do something good for others. This year’s campaign theme “I Was Here” is a play off one of Beyoncé’s recent songs, and will take place Sunday, Aug. 19. With that in mind, the songstress is starring in a video for the campaign looking fresh faced with her new signature ‘do on full display. As previously reported, Bey’s new look sparked controversy among her fans with several people expressing their dislike for her braided hairstyle.
Putting the criticism aside, however, Beyoncé is encouraging fans and detractors alike to rise to the occasion when World Humanitarian Day rolls around later this month. “On Aug. 19, 2012, It’s high time we rise together,” says the singer in the video. “Do one thing for another human being. Nothing is too small,” she adds.
The singer is said to be shooting a music video for her track “I Was Here” in support of the campaign.
