Few celebrity breakups were more public than that of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars NeNe and Gregg Leakes. After their relationship bitterly imploded on camera, the two finally divorced last September. But according to reports, NeNe and Gregg may just be ready to give their love another shot.
Last month, NeNe mysteriously tweeted that she was having a date night with an unnamed man and that she was in love with him.
Now, an insider has informed Wetpaint that Gregg will very much be a part of season five of “RHOA” and that the former couple may reconcile on camera.
“Gregg has been taping regularly for season five,” a show insider tells us. “He’s not missing in action at all. He’s definitely part of the new season.”
“I think this season will be make or break for them,” the insider continued. “They’re going to see if they’re better off apart or together. That will be a big part of NeNe’s story line on the show — whether or not she and Gregg get back together.”
Former “RHOA” star and relationship guru Tiy-E Muhammed spoke with S2S magazine and told them that the series strained NeNe and Gregg’s marriage and that the lines the couple had promised not to cross with each other “were eventually erased.”
NeNe’s BFF, Cynthia Bailey, also spoke with S2S and claimed that NeNe and Gregg just have a strong connection.
“I think NeNe and Gregg definitely have a comfort zone with each other,” Cynthia said. “Anytime NeNe really wants to talk to someone that she really considers a true friend, she’s going to call Gregg, every single time.”
Well, it looks like we’ll just have to see if Cupid’s arrow strikes twice. Either way, it looks like NeNe is going to have a strong romantic story line next season. Until then, check out some other couples that have been struck more than once by Cupid. –nicholas robinson
