Acting Is in J. Marie Cooper’s Blood and She Lands a Role in Studio 11 Films’ 'Rhythm'

Full given name: Jennae Marie Cooper [Actress in Studio 11 Films’ Rhythm, an 11 Eleven 11 Project]

Where you were born/where you were raised? Atlanta

Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius

Why did you take this role?
I took this role to build my resume as an actress, and I felt the character as a nurse brought out my nurturing spirit.

Did you have any particular mentors or inspirations as a young actor?
My father is a federal Judge but wanted to pursue a career in acting and was going to go by the name J Clarence. I found this information out personally from him, when I said I’m going by the name J. Marie.  He later pursued another career because his mother would not approve and  became a famous Judge and is now a Senior Federal Judge. He has won a Trumpet Award for all of his accomplishments.

The one movie you attended that you will never forget: Avatar

Last good movie you saw: The Descendants with George Clooney was the last great movie that I saw. I felt that movie was awesome and hilarious with a great message to family and marriage.

Your personal acting idols: Julia Roberts, Denzel Washington, Marilyn Monroe

Performer you would drop everything to go see: A performer I would drop everything to see would be Michael Jackson.

Favorite cities: San Francisco and Honolulu

First CD, tape or LP you owned: Michael Jackson’s was the first tape I owned and my first concert, too.

Moment you knew you wanted to perform for a living:
It was after several events occurred and took place without me pursuing the career myself at all. It was like the universe was telling me that this was my calling. I started to notice the signs and fell in love with every aspect of my acting career.

Worst flubbed line, missed cue or onstage mishap:
My worst onstage mishap was trying to help someone remember their lines during a live performance. The other actor forgot their lines and froze. I tried to help them remember their lines by using improvisation and helped them relax hoping that they would somehow remember. The lines I created did not really flow properly, and it was a very hard spot for someone to freeze. I kept thinking of all places to freeze at a place where I can’t leave off the stage right now.

Most challenging role you have played:
My most challenging role was my first lead role in a traveling play. I had to memorize 50 pages of dialogue and that was very challenging because it was not like a regular play where you practice a lot with the cast. I was on my own most of the time.

Worst job you ever had:
The worst job I ever had was working at a school.

Career you would want if not a performer: I would like to teach acting as a professor at a college.

Three things you can’t live without: God, family, love and a nice amount of money
