Miss Jessie’s Super Sweetback treatment is a deep hair conditioning treatment for growing out naturally curly, kinky and wavy hair.
You can put the treatment in your hair by two methods. You can leave it in your hair for 15 minutes, while you let your hair be steamed by the shower or a steamer, or you can sit under the dryer for 15 minutes and let it dry. I used the steam method.
To me, it smells amazing, but people have said after a while it smells like cherry cough syrup. I do agree with the cherry scent. I spread the treatment throughout my hair and let it sit for 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes, I did feel my hair get softer, and when I started rinsing the product out, my hair felt really manageable.
My hair didn’t feel as tangled as I rinsed out the treatment.
As I washed my hair, however, the soft texture changed. Once I was finished shampooing, I styled my hair as normal and let my hair dry overnight. Something I did notice the next day was how clean my scalp was. Apparently, that was thanks to centella extract, which is not only a growth stimulant, but also a nurturing cream for dry and sensitive skin.
With this product, I think it would be best to use it, rinse it out, not do anything else to the hair, and maybe the soft texture would stay.
If you want to shampoo your hair after using this product, then it might not be the best product to use. Also, if this is your first time using the product, I suggest going online and getting a free sample beforehand.
