Just say his name—Robin Thicke—and the typical black woman gets weak in the knees over this tall, buff, exotic-looking white guy who hits those soulful notes like a brother. In concert, Thicke sings, coos, begs, and gyrates his hips like Elvis, with a touch of Prince, and he did not disappoint during the Wood-Star Music Festival in Chicago on Sat. August 18.

Take a look at Thicke in action, and you’ll see why a crowd of black women was behaving like giddy lovestruck teens.

Sadly, three songs into the set, the press—even rolling out, one of the media partners for the event—were asked to leave by security officials for unexplained reasons.

Still, we managed to shoot video of a few of our favorite Robin Thicke moves.
