Nas and Pusha T headline Heineken’s Red Star Tour

Heinken kicked off its Red Star Access Tour with a show featuring two of the top lyricists in rap. Nas and Pusha T were the headlining acts at in a concert held at the House of Blues in Chicago on Aug 18.

Comedian Affion Crockett served as the host for the concert that got underway shortly after 9 p.m. Pusha T opened the show with his verse from Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like.” The G.O.O.D Music artist then performed several of his other guest verses from hit songs such as “Mercy” and “Run Away.” Pusha T’s finest moment was during his performance of “Exodus 23:1.” The song, which caused Lil Wayne and Drake to see it as diss toward them a few months back, comes off as personal and Pusha T has stronger motivation when he performs it live.

Nas entered the stage after Pusha T and opened with “No Introduction” from his new hit album,  Life Is Good. Nas then took fans on a journey through his extensive discography. He ran through hits “New York State of Mind,” “The World Is Yours” and “Life’s A Bitch” from his Illmatic album. He performed “If I Ruled The World” and “Street Dreams” and “Nastradamus” from the Nastradamus album and “Made You Look” from God Son.

Nas returned to Life Is Good and performed “Daughters,” “Loco Motive,” “Bye Baby” and he ended his set with “Stay.”

It was a great night for hip-hop and two emcees who continue to take the genre further with superior wordplay.
