Caribbean Nation Demands Chad Johnson Pay for Island Wedding

It looks like Chad Johnson just can’t catch a break. After watching his career and his marriage to Evelyn Lozada burst into shambles, Johnson is now facing a hefty bill from the island nation of Saint Martin, which is demanding that he repay the money they spent on his island wedding.

According to RadarOnline, Saint Martin agreed to pay for part of Johnson and Lozada’s wedding with the hopes that their planned reality show about their nuptials would generate a major boost in tourism for the island.

However, just 41days after their marriage, Lozada filed for divorce after Johnson head-butted her during an argument, and the reality show was quickly canceled.

Now, Saint Martin is demanding that Johnson refund them the $90,000 is spent on his wedding.

“When someone is investing in business it’s a risk they are taking and if something happens then they will have to deal with the consequences,” said Saint Martin Finance Minister Roland Tuit. “Naturally, we have a contract with Johnson and Lozada and that contract has some clauses inside of it and St. Maarten will use those clauses if necessary.”

Besides his Saint Martin Bill, Johnson was recently hit with a lien by a builder who claims the footballer owes him $130,000 for work he did on Johnson’s Florida home. If Johnson doesn’t pay, his home could go into foreclosure.

Al of this comes after a week in which Johnson was fired on camera from the Miami Dolphins and dropped from an endorsement deal with Zico coconut water.

Clearly, Johnson is having quite the life crisis, but he’s not alone when it comes to shocking financial troubles. Check out some other money troubled stars below. – nicholas robinson
