Kim Kardashian Goes Natural? Socialite Wears Curly Wig

Kim Kardashian Sports Curly Wig

The natural hair craze is one that’s been catching on in Hollywood with celebs like Solange Knowles, Tracee Ellis Ross and singer Elle Varner lauded as top trendsetters in the texture embracing trend. With that in mind, has the natural hair fever reached none other than Kanye’s beloved Kimberly Kardashian? Eh, thankfully not so much.

The socialite, 31, took to her official website Thursday to show off a headful of curls fashioned into a kinky curly wig.”Love this hair!” wrote Kim. “Clyde Haygood and Joyce Bonelli glammed me up and we went for a fun, crazy look, channeling Diana Ross.” “Definitely a new look for me,” she added.

Like the iconic Supremes singer, Kim rocked a larger-than-life mane and dramatic ’60s-inspired makeup.

Since her wigged out debut, however, she’s been blasted with criticism from fans who’ve accused her of “acting black.” In a similar fashion she’s been criticized for switching up her look reportedly per the request of her boyfriend Kanye West. The celeb has been spotted wearing leather leggings much like the ones her man wears and West’s Air Yeezy sneakers, a more urban look for her. Additionally, the celeb previously lauded for her lengthy locks and signature smokey eye has taken out her hair extensions and is sporting considerably less makeup.

With images of a “more urban” Kim K already in mind, the celeb’s hair transformation didn’t go unnoticed by detractors who couldn’t wait to pick her apart.

“Kayne is making Kim kardashian blacker and blacker. Now 3c hair?! Okay Kim,” wrote one critic.

“Does Kim kardashian think he [sic] needs nappy a– black people hair cause she’s dating one? #haggardb-tch,” wrote another.

However, some people can’t get enough of Kim’s faux ‘fro and are showering her with praise.

What do you think? Is Kim’s Diana Ross-inspired ‘fro offensive or are people just itching for a reason to blast this Kardashian? Check out more of Kim’s curly wig below. -danielle canada

So…. some people think it’s okay that people of African descent wear straight European hair.. and that it’s not okay if other races wear kinky/curly/or afro textures? That’s a compliment that other races are finally embracing afro/kinky textures instead of expecting people of African descent to change the texture of our hair to look like theirs and are even wearing weaves to match our hair. Mimicry = a compliment in its highest form. BTW.. it isn’t possible to act like a race. There is no such thing.
