Run, Missy Elliott, Michael Bivens, Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill. and Ed Lover were all in attendance. Also on hand was reality show producer Mona Scott-Young as, well as Gayle King, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes.
Rapper Maino gave the New York Daily News a somber quote on the ceremony. “He was somebody that gave me advice,” said the Brooklyn, N.Y. emcee. “I don’t like to see this. I don’t like to see families like this. We’re talking about a legend. He helped artists become superstars and moguls.”
