Enigmatic music icon Prince made a rare TV appearance on Sept. 17 when he was interviewed by the ladies of “The View.” And though the simple act of giving an interview was enough to get the people talking, all anyone seemed to talk about was Prince’s rather surprising new hairdo.
For years, Prince has been dazzling fans with a silky smooth crop of short hair that could easily sell any box of Dark & Lovely or Just For Me No-Lye Relaxer (tell me you didn’t just recite that classic line “J-U-S-T F-O-R M-E”).
But during his appearance on “The View,” Prince shocked fans by rocking a new “baby ‘fro,” as it was referred to by The Roots’ Questlove.
While we’re all for going natural, there’s just something about Prince’s new ‘do, which was clearly higher on the top than on the sides, that just didn’t jell with us, nor many of his fans. Sorry, but at this point, we like our Prince looking like he just came from the salon and his hair is laid like world peace rather than, well, the Sabbath — the day God and his beautician did nothing.
