Throughout the years, NeNe Leakes has garnered criticism from fans and cast mates alike. Even her former cast mate Sheree Whitfield claimed that she would never associate Leakes with fashion. But it looks like Leakes may now be getting the last laugh after grabbing the attention of fashion’s most elite, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
Though Wintour has transformed American Vogue by replacing models with famous actors and singers on its covers and in its editorials, the famous fashion figure has noticeably shunned reality stars, incuding Kim Kardashian, whom she refused to invite to the Met Gala.
But Wintour has apparently taken a liking to Leakes and featured her prominently alongside her “New Normal” cast mates in a photo and editorial dedicated to the new NBC comedy, which is garnering rave reviews.
The series, which is based on the life of “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, features Leakes playing assistant to two gay parents.
