Gabby Douglas Co-Hosts, Nicki Minaj Appears on ‘The View’
After taking home Olympic gold and winning the hearts of millions of Americans, a 16-year-old gymnastics phenom took to ‘The View’ Monday for co-hosting duties. Gabby Douglas, the women’s all-around gold medalist, took to the ABC talk show’s green couch alongside Sherri Shepherd, Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar to speak on her post Olympic games life. Additionally the bubbly teen joined in on an interview with Nicki Minaj who detailed her new role on “American Idol.
“It’s going pretty good,” said Nicki about the FOX show.”You gotta watch and see. I look up to all of them [American Idol judges]. I worked with Mariah very early on in my career. I am grateful that she gave me that look very early on. She is really, really funny. I didn’t really know Randy before, but he is funny.”
In addition to speaking on Idol, Minaj also discussed her new perfume that is fashioned after the rapper’s upper torso. “They asked me, w’hat do you want in your perfume bottle?’ And I said, ‘if it’s one thing I could have it would be a pink wig!’ […] Then they brought me a sketch of it and I was mesmerized.”
Minaj’s Pink Friday perfume is in stores now.
