Beyoncé Drops Out of Clint Eastwood's 'A Star Is Born'

Beyoncé’s conquered a number of arenas in her life, but movie stardom has always eluded her. All of that was supposed to change with Beyoncé’s star turn in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming A Star Is Born remake, but it looks like Bey’s Hollywood dreams have eluded her once again, as reports reveal that she’s dropped out of the project.

According to Variety, Beyoncé was set to play the leading role of a rising young starlet who falls in love with an aging rocker. But, Bey has backed out of the film due to scheduling conflicts.

Though Eastwood has approached stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, producers have to find a leading man for the film, and production had to be pushed back due to Bey’s pregnancy. During the hiatus, Eastwood took a break to film the new movie, Trouble With The Curve.

Now that Bey is off the project, insiders say that Eastwood has expressed interest in having popular jazz singer Esperanza Spalding play the role. However, no offers for a female lead will be made until a male lead is secured.

Well, perhaps Bey will have her chance at movie stardom again, one day. But she’s not alone in her quest for Hollywood recognition. Check out some other artists trying to break into Hollywood below. – nicholas robinson
